What’s happening on Carpenters Estate?

Since August 2020 we’ve been working with residents to put together a new plan for Carpenters Estate after many years of uncertainty. Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz is committed to ensuring that residents are at the heart of shaping this new plan. Ultimately the decision on the future of the estate will be in residents’ hands via a ballot in Autumn 2021.

A message from the mayor:

We have reached a really exciting moment on the Carpenters Estate where the team are launching the Draft Landlord Offer. I want to say a huge thank you for all the time, energy and effort that residents have put into shaping the designs and to giving feedback to the team on the Housing Offer. When I became Mayor of Newham I committed to working with people and putting them at the heart of what we do. I know that it takes real commitment from you, as residents, to put your time into this and the team and I really appreciate your efforts.

As we move towards the ballot, starting on 20th October, there is lots for you to think about. The team is here to discuss how this Landlord Offer impacts your household and answer any other questions you have, big or small. I look forward to seeing you on the estate soon.

Now that the Draft Landlord Offer is about to launch, we want to make sure that residents know they can come to our drop-in at The Dovetail and talk to us, ask questions and make their opinions known.
